Hype. It is a dangerous thing. A blessing and a curse. Mensho started in 2005 by Ramen Boss; Tomoharu Shono. Mensho has several flagship stores in Japan. They also have the 'Michelin recognised' store in San Francisco, USA. (NB: no official star has been given out as yet) Mensho also have stores in Arizona, New Delhi, Shangai, Melbourne. And now...Sydney! Opened for dinner only a month ago...but now also lunch is on offer which is where I started today. The wait queues have been kind of nuts...it is what hype can do to a place...so be prepared to line up friends! After a 45 minute wait, I got a seat at the bar which was so cool to watch all the action! Ordered their 'Signature Tori Paitan' (rich, thick, creamy, Chicken broth). It has 3 types of chashu; pork, chicken and duck. Kinoko menma, spinach, truffle paste, enoki chips, green onion, chocolate wagyu (whatever that is?!).
